Rev. Herman Ahrens, Darmstadt Pastor, Dies Rev. Herman C. Ahrens, 64, pastor of Salem United Church of Christ at Darmstadt in Vanderburgh county county for the past eight years, died at 2 p. m. Tuesday in Deaconess Hospital Hospital in Evansville, following a stroke. In the ministry for 36 years, he was a graduate of Elmhurst College and Eden Theological Seminary. He had served pastorates at Port Washington, Washington, Marion and Chattanooga, O., and Aurora, Ind., before going to Darmstadt. Surviving are his wife, Emma; a daughter, Miss Ruth of Celina, O.; three sons, Herman, Jr., of Lansdale, Pa., Earl of Celina and Ralph of Wilshire, O.; four sisters, Mrs. Ossie Curry of Princeton, Mrs. Christ To- drank of Huntingburg, Mrs. Homer Meyerholtz of Straughn, Ind., and Mrs. Raymond Baer of Aurora, Ind.; two brothel's, Gus Ahrens of Huntingburg Huntingburg and Walter of Danville, Ind., and eight grandchildren. Friends may pay respects at the Alexander Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. completed. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery at Huntingburg.
