Wilton County Citizen: Hugh and Isaac Gilliland, father and son, who were convicted of murder at the May. 1884, term of the Wilson county District District Court, will apply for a pardon at; the April meeting ot the State Board of Pardons. The case grew out of the right of possession of eighty acres of land in-Allen county, which waa within within the limits of the old L. L. <fc G. railroad land grant and was claimed by a Mrs. Hawes and also by Hugh Gilliland. In the strife thai arose over the land James Harclerode, a brother of Mr3. Hawes, and a man named McFarland were murdered by the Gillilands. The case was brought to to Wilson county on a change of venue from Allen couuty. - : Bronson
