Sen. Fullerlon Of Huron Dies Of Mishap Injuries HURON W) — State Sen. Carroll Fullerton, 60, died at 6:50 a.m. today of injuries suffered in a car- truck, accident which earlier took the lives of two of his fellow Huron businessm e n and d u c k- hunting companions. Fullerton had been In critical condition in St. John's Hospital here since the accident about noon Wednesday. He underwent extensive surgery Wednesday afternoon. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the first Methodist Church at Huron with Dr. Morris Kildahl officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Huron. Fullerton was completing h i s third term as senator from Beadle County. He had operated a furniture business here for about 29 years. His death made the state highway toll 166 compared to 185 at this time a year ago. Fullerton, Frank Sanderson and Ralph Bischoff were on their way to hunt ducks on the opening day of the season when their station wagon hit a gravel truck broadside 10 miles north of Yale. Sanderson and Bischoff died In the crash. Bischoff, an investment broker, was a former member of the state board of equalization. Sanderson, a cafe owner, was a former member of the State Fair Board. At Pierre, Gov. Archie Gubbrud said the death of Fullerton was "a great '.oss not only to his family and friends but also to the state. "He was amiable and effective legislator." The governor said the tragic death of Fullerton and his two hunting companions again points up the necessity for a strong highway (Continued on Page Two) DEATH
