UNCLE DIES Mr. and Mrs. Robert Black received word Sunday evening of the death of Robert's uncle, Mr. Fred Urch of West Concord. The funeral was Wednesday at West Concord. Debbie, daughter of the Ronald Sabins, received word Saturday that she had been accepted at Iowa State University and plans to enter there next fall. Debbie sent her application in months ago & in the meantime has taken various tests, She plans to go .. into the Home Economics field. The Lawrence Millers, Mrs. Margaret Kent and family and Mrs. Margaret Curren and Paul were in Ames Sunday to help Mrs. Miller's father, Victor Applegate observe his birthday. Recent houseguests of Mrs. Margaret Kent were the Alvin Stcdmans, Ames. . Ivadelle Tietz, Whittemore, was a Sunday caller at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Verl Patterson and family. Mrs. Verl Patterson returned home last Thursday evening from Davenport where she had attended a meeting of the Grand Chapter of Eastern Star. The Fun and Do Club met Friday at the home of Katherinc Johnson. Most members were present. Guests were Mrs. Alvin Klein and Mrs. Terry Johnson. 500 was played with prizes going to Evelyn Davidson, Luella Lickteig and Birdie Vitzthum. A gift was presented to Mr, and Mrs. Gordon Davidson, who were married recently. The next meeting will be held Nov. 22 at the home of Stella Eischcn. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Eischen and family were Sunday dinner guests at the home of the former's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Eischen and family at Wesley. The dinner was in honor of the Harold Eischens son, Russell, who received his First Holy Communion Sunday at St. Joseph's Catholic church at 'Wesley. Other guests included the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Alex Eischen, St. Benedict, and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hauptly of Wesley. Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Steinberg left Friday for their home in Pamona, Calif, after spending several days visiting brothers-in-law and sisters and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Jessi- Schmidt, Huthven, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Jones and family, and Mrs. Mamie Fitch at Burt. Enrpute home the Steinbergs will stop off at Des Moines to visit a son, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Schore and family, a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Richard McDowell and family at Dawson. Dr. and Mrs. R. K. Richardson left Sunday for Rochester where Dr.' Richardson is attending the Mayo Foundation Clinic Review. This is a post graduate course offered to Drs. annually.
