Dennis Ray White Georgia Dennis Ray White, 23, of Athens, Ga., a former resident of Mt. Vernon, died at 11:15 p.m. Monday at Athens General Hospital, after he was struck by a car in Athens. He was born in Mt. Vernon on Feb. 7, 1952, the son of Donald Eugene and Wanda (Ashby) White. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bridges Funeral Home in Athens, Ga., with graveside funeral services to be held at Laird cemetery at Belle Rive on Saturday at 2 p.m., with Aubra C. Chapman officiating. Friends may call at the Hughey-Pulley Funeral Home after 6 p.m. on Friday, and until noon on Saturday. Those attending the service Saturday afternoon are asked to go directly to the cemetery for the service. Mr. Wliite is survived by his father, Donald White, Athens, Ga.; his mother, Mrs. Wanda Ashby Wliite, Athens, Ga.; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Nora Ashby, Mt. Vernon; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Rosie White, Mt. Vernon; an uncle, the Rev. Robert Ashby, Mt. Vernon; three brothers, Cary Eugene White, Winterville, Ga., Eddie White, Monroe, N.C., and Airman Second Class Tim White, USAF, New York; two sisters, Mrs, Carolyn Hutchison, Winterville, Ga., and Mrs. Janet Parham, Athens, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both grandfathers.
