N. W.Johnson, 97- Year-Old Farmer, Dies Neaf lna Nicholas W. Johnson, 97, died at 6:00 o'clock this morning at the home of his son, Elva Johnson, [east of lna. Mr. Johnson was born July 31, 1852 near Richview. the' son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Johnson. He settled near the old town of Spring Garden in hils early twenties. In 1875 he was married in Spring Garden, to Florence Hayse, who died about IS years ago. ' He had resided in the vicinity of lna for the past 75 years. % Mr. Johnson was a member of the Old Spring Garden church and transferred his membership to the lna Methodist church when the Old Spring Garden church yvas disbanded. Mr. Johnson, a well s known farmer, was the last of his gen oration of the family. He is survived by the following children, Mrs. Lillie Hayse of Ewing" Mrs. Minnie Hanson and Elva Johnson of lna, Charles Johnson of Villa Grove, 111., and Niles Johnson of Benton; 16 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p. m. at the Methodist church in lna and burial will be in Fitzgerrells cemetery near Old Spring Garden. The Burton and , Johnson Funeral Home will' be m charge the 'services.
