No. 2 1 1 EATHY MURDERING 2 SONS ACCUSED Young Mother on Trial In what promises to develop Into the most sensational local court room drama of recent years, Annie L*aurie Williams, a 32-year- old Pasadena dime store clerk who ia charged with the mutilation murder of her two young sons, will no *o trial Monday at b.30 a.m. in 56th District Court. District Attorney Marsene Johneon Jr. has stated he expects to announce ready for trial when the first of the two murder cases Is called by Judge W. E. Stone. Johnson also haa elated he will demand the death penalty. The dismembered bodies of the two boys, CaJvin, 9, and Conrad, 8, wrapped in a sheet of plastic, were found burled in a shallow grave behind a garage at Algoa last Feb. 22. Chief Assistant District Attorney Jules Damiari Jr., who will assist Johnson in the prosecution of the case, said that Mrs. Wil- iiams will b» tried first for the murder or her son Conrad. Special Vcnlrft A special venire of 300 prospective jurors, one-third of them women, have been summoned for tho trial. Quite a number of the women members of the special venire have asked to be cxcuoed because they are mothers of young children, Judge Stone said. The law exempts from jury service women who are mothers of, or have legal custody of, children under 16 years of age. Assistant District Attorney Ia- miani said 40 witnesses have been summoned. Among them are C. V. (Buster) Kern, sheriff of Harris county; Dr. C. A. Dwyer, Har- rU county psychiatrist, and Dr. Jrwin Cohen of the State Psychopathic hospital. Indictment Charge* The two indictments charge that Mrs. Williams killed her two young sons on Feb. 18, "wilfully, voluntarily and with malice aforethought" by: (1) "By striking, hitting and beating -- (them) -- by some means, instrument and weapon, ft better description of which is to the grand jurors unknown." (2) "By then and there tying and twisting -- (around their necks and throats) -- a hand- kerohief or cloth, a better description of which is to the grand juron unknown," thereby strangling them. (3) By causing her som "to inhale and swallow certain noxious substances injurious to health and the functions of the body, to wit, oeconal and other substances, the exact nature of which is to the grand jurors unknown."
