Pedestrian Dies Of Auto Injuries Dragged Half Mile, Witness Tells Police The twenty - third highway fatality fatality victim of 1939 in Reading and Berks county, William H. Haws, 66, Gibraltar, died in St. Joseph's Hospital Hospital at 1.25 o'clock yesterday morn - ing, six hours after he had been dragged nearly a half mile by an automobile on the river road to Birdsboro.
