GET COLLEGE DEGBEES Howard R. Smith and Theron V. Lewis Graduate With Honors at Grove City, Penn State. ROCKLAXD. June 16. Friends of two local young men, Howard R. Smith and Theron V. Lewis, will be pleased to know that they have been graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Science, the former from Grove City, the latter from Penn State. Both proved popular with their fellow students students and active in general college side lines as well as their studies. Mr. Smith is a member of Pi Kappa Delta, national honorary fraternity, of Theta Alpha Phi, national dramatic fraternity, the Senior Red Cross Life Saving Corps, the Shakespeare Literary, Literary, Kemikos Club, for advanced chemistry chemistry students, the Science Club, the icter-club icter-club icter-club debate of 1930-31 1930-31 1930-31 and the Y. M. C. A. He also took leading parts in several plays, including "The Cat and the Canary," "Smilin' Through" and "Easy Mark." and was editor-in-chief editor-in-chief editor-in-chief editor-in-chief editor-in-chief of The Wolf Pack, the annual literary publication of the college. He ha3 been elected a member of the faculty faculty at the new Seneca. High School, to be opened this fall. ... Mr. Lewis is a member of the Alpha Tau Alpha Honorary Fraternity of Agriculture Education, -the. -the. Military band for two years and the rifle team for two years. There are 650 students in the graducate class of Penn State. Mr. Lewis will attend the summer term at Cornell University and will bo supervisor of the agricultural department department of the Vocational School at Hammondsport, N. Y. Friends have also received announcement announcement of the graduation of a former former Rockland boy, John B. Duffield, who was a member of the graduating class of the University of Oklahoma. On June 5 he was one of 1,026 who received received diplomas. Mr. Duffield also was an active member of class and campus undertakings. He received a Bachelor of Science degree like the others, but in oilfield management. He was a memler of the Sugma Gamma Epsilon, honorary geology and petroleum petroleum engineering fraternity, honorary military, "Scabbard and Blade. Mr. Duffield attended the school here, completing completing his freshman year in the local High School, when he left for Oklahoma Oklahoma with his parents.
