Religious school survival BURLINGTON (UPI) -- The new acting superintendent the Vermont's Roman Catholic school system says she think the time for religious-based education is over. When Sister Ruth Ravey took over the top administrative of the Catholic school system last month she inherited a system less than half the size it was 10 years ago. There are now only 15 Catholic schools in the state with students and 275 teachers. Sister Ravey doesn't expect all 15 schools will survive next few years, but she said in an interview that there always be a place for schools that instill a value system emphasize basic education and discipline.
