Thekla Brand Services for Thekla G. Brand, 92, of Lubbock will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in WAV. Rix Chape! with the Rev. Charles Bowyer, curate at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, officiating. officiating. Cremation will follow the service. She died at 3:22 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Hospital following a lengthy illness. The Ashland, Wis. native married Herbert J. Brand in 1923 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wis. He died in 1967. She lived in Minneapolis, Minn., from 1923 until 1982 when she moved to Lubbock. She was a member of the Episcopal church. Survivors include a daughter, Carol Ann Elliott of Lubbock; a sister, sister, Gertrude Wetzcl of Milwaukee; and four grandchildren. IE.R. Conklin PLAIN VIEW (Special) — Services Services for E.R. Conklin, 77, of Plainview Plainview were at 2 p.m. today in Parkview Parkview Baptist Church here with the Rev. David Harp, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under direction of Lemons Funeral Home here. He died at 2 p.m. Sunday in Central Central Plains Regional Hospital here after after an illness. The Bangs native moved to Taylor County in 1925 and married Lavana Kossey on Feb. 4, 1930. in Baird. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member the Pampa Masonic Lodge. He was a Baptist. (Jean) Cunningham, 90, of Missoula, Mont., a former long- time Lubbock resident and widow of,- a well-known English professor at. Texas Tech University, died FridayJ in Missoula at the home of a niece with whom she was living. Born Feb. 7, 1893, at New Concord, Concord, Ohio, she graduated from the College of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash., and married Dr. Albert B. Cunningham June 18,1912. In 1929 the couple came to Lubbock, Lubbock, where Cunningham was an English professor at Tech prior to his death in 1962.
