He was a past master of th Masonic Lodge and a member of th Sons of Hermann, Woodmen of th WorM, Knights of Pythias, and of th Bohemian Lodge, S. P. J. S. T. For many years he had been assoc ated witn the Baumgarten-Matul company, pioneer Schuienburg enter prise, and for more than 40 years ha fceen an undertaker.
