Provo, A. F. Legion Nines Grab Wins Garth Bray, Provo American Legion southpaw, pitched a no- hit game against Springville Tuesday night, but the Art City nine managed to score nine runs. However, Provo counted 21 times, so Bray pitched his way to ac easy 21-4 victory. In another Tuesday game, American Fork's Legion team defeated Payson, 14-8. Not only did Bray hold Springville Springville hittess in the "one-for-the- book" game, but he also struck out 18 batters. However he gave up 11 bases on balls and hit one batsman. His wMness plus three errors by his teammates enabled Springville to score nine runs. Provo clobbered Springville pitching for 19 hits. Byron Penrod, Penrod, with four-for-four, and Mike Neeley, with four-for-five, were the big hitters for the winners One of Neeley's hits was a triple. Bray also hit a three-bagger. B. Hackford, G. Nichol, B. Smith and Moore were the big hitters in leading American Fork to its victory victory over Payson. Larry Hutchings, Hutchings, who was credited with the win, was in great form Tuesday, as he held Payson pretty well in check, after a four-run first inking inking uprising by the losers.
