Andy Falls cited at Del Rio High awards day, May 1974
Tom Ca/dwe// Wins New A word Tom Caldwell, son of the Rev. and Mrs. William Caldwell, was selected by the Del Rio High School faculty to receive the Honor Award for 1974. This is the first time the award has ever been given and was presented by High School Principal Simon Ramon during a recent assembly program in the gymnasium. To be eligible a student has to have an average of 85 or over. He must be an outstanding student in every respect, cooperative and a credit to the school. Caldwell, graduating this year, was an outstanding athlete with a high academic average. He will attend Baylor University on a football scholarship next fall. Medals in a number of other categories were presented by department heads during the Awards Day program. Social Studies: Albedo TARS WALKATHON-Saturday Teens Aiding Retarded, TARS, staged a sponsored walkathon, starting at the main gate at Laughlin Air Force Base and walking to the San Felipe Neighborhood Facility, a distance of approximately 10 miles. Approximately $266 was raised by the members, who are planning to attend a convention in Abilene in June.
