LAFBGets Deputy Commanders Laughlin Air Force Base has welcomed two new deputy commanders. 'Col. James F. Fagan has begun his assignment as deputy commander for Logistics, after -arriving at Laughlin from the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., where he was chief of the Maintenance Support Branch. The colonel was previously assigned to Laughlin for a six-year duty stint from March of 1957 through September of 1963 with the famous 4080th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing. The distinguished military graduate of the Air Force ROTC program at Parks College in St. Louis saw combat duty in the Korean conflict. Immediately after the Korean assignment, Fagan was assigned as flight commander of the 9th Fighter Bomber Squadron and was instrumental in- the development of that COL. HARRY FALLS JR" CO L.JAMES FAG AN group as the first nuclear weapons capable fighter group in the Far East. Laughlin's new deputy commander for operations is Col. Harry Falls Jr. Colone'l Falls came to Laughlin from the Headquarters of the Pacific Air Force where he served as deputy chief of staff for plans. The colonel flew 300 combat missions in Vietnam while assigned to the 12th Tactical Fighter Wing before being assigned to PACAF. A graduate of Clemson University In South Carolina, the colonel has served as a combat pilot in Korea and as project officer of the F-5 project for the Norwegian Air Force.
