Emporia Mat Show Monday Expected to Draw a Crowd Big crowds ban been-the rule at the new Civic auditorium since Us opening last Sunday and another one Is expected next Monday when Emporia's first big-time wrestling show in several years is staged in the big arena. An early rush for reserved seat tickets' and a heavy demand for merchants' coupons has been reported by the American Legion, sponsors of the mat show, and by Promoter 8am Perdaris. Ticket* went on sale at noon today at the auditorium box 'office. Onrtlle Brown, former Wallace, Kan., blacksmith, will head the east of six professional wrestling stars who will perform in the Emporia show. Brown, rated as one «of the three leading contenders for the heavyweight wrestling crown, will meet Alex Aaberg, European champion, champion, in the main event, a 3 falls out of three, no time limit battle. In the l-hour seml-wlndup, stave Brody, spectacular easterner, will meet Prospector Fete, the Arizona gold-miner, in what is expected to be the mott colorful bout of the card. Speed and science are slated to feature the 30-mlnute time-limit opening bout between Hans Schwarz, New York Iceman and Al- bion Britt, former junior and light heavyweight champion, now a heavyweight contender. In order to give everyone a chance to get re-acquainted with the wrestling sport, sponsors of the bouts have posted a scale of prices considerably under the average for this quality show, and in addition 54 Emporia merchants are distributing distributing coupons giving holders a still further saving. The coupons should be exchanged for regular tickets at the auditorium office, which will be open Saturday, Sunday.and Monday afternoons. . RING IS STRENGTHENED. Promoter Ferdari*' big ring has been completely renovated for the show. It has a new floor, a new mat.covering and its supports have been rebraced, for it will hold up nearly 500 pounds of struggling struggling wrestlers in each bout. The ring will be set up in the arena Monday and a new ring-light, providing providing 2,000 watts of illumination, will be suspended from the ceiling over the ring. Ringside seats will be on the main arena, first balcony seats will be reserved and the upper balcony will be thrown open to general general admission customers.
