SPECIAL OFFICER BOWERS RESIGNS FROM P. H. R. FOHCE Special OHUer William A. Bowers, of the Pennsylvania Railroad, to - day tendered his reslgnatlonMo take effect at once. Officer Bowers gavo no reasons for his quilting, lut it is understood that he will go Into business, having had several good offers. His future course will be announced later. Special Officer Bowers has been in harness for the past twenty - three years, during which llmo ho has proved a terror to car robbers, hoboes and train jumpers. He bus been mostly stationed in tho local yards, but whenever there waa special duty to lok after, Ofllcer Bowers was called. He was prominent during the big water and Ice floods some years ago, was assigned to duty at all big wrecks, and worked from Lucknow to Loch lei.
