Jack Scott, Glenna Oats 50th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Scott will be honored with a fiftieth wedding anniversary reception on Sunday, April 20, from 2 until 4 p.m. at the East Delta Community Center in Charleston. Jack Scott and the former Glenna Oats were married on April 19, 1936, near Charleston by Justice of the Peace P.M. Rhodes. They are lifelong residents of Charleston. The parents of the couple, couple, Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Scott, were married Jan. 27, 1898, and celebrated 56 years of marriage, and Mr. and Mrs. Byron Oats were married Jan. 28,1910, and celebrated 59 years of marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Oats were married by Joe Rhodes, also a justice of the peace and the father of P.M. Rhodes. Hosts for the reception will be their son-in-law and daughter, Roy Lee and Dolores Jackson of Charleston and the honored couple's couple's grandson, Jerry and John Jackson. Friends and relatives are invited to call during the appointed hours. The couple requests no gifts.
