THE COUNTRY liUB PROGRAMME FOR THE ANNUAL OUTING Entries for the Pony Racing The Greatest Fete of the Social Season The final preparations for the annual outing of tbe Country Club at Monterey have been made The festivities will be the last of tbe social season and judging from the applications already made for accommodations tbe fete will be the greatest of the season It has been planned on an unusually large scale this year The music will be given by the Country Club band of fifty pieces The social festivities of the event have been carefully arranged and cannot fail to win their usual success For sportsmen the outiiiu will be of un - nsual interest as a new feature of pony racing and steplechasing will be introduced introduced Riders of the Countrv Club of the Burlingame Club and Los Aneeles and Santa Monica have entered The number of entries is a promise of some exciting sport The programme of races is as follows follows First race One - fourth mile purse 30 of which 10 to second for ponies not exceeding exceeding 14 bands 1 inch entrance 3 p p three snlries to fill weight 160 pounds Second race Steeplechase for ponies not exceeding exceeding 14 hands 1 inch aDout one and one - qusrter miles purse f 100 of which 25 to second eu trance 5 p p three entries to All weight 155 pounds Tnlrd race One mile for horses and galloways galloways galloways allowed 7 ponuds for every Inch under 15 hands purse 100 of which 23 to second entrance10 pp three entries entries to fill 40 pounds added to weight for age Fourth race One -
