New Friends for Area.... "Friendly Town" youngsters, who arrived in the area yesterday from Cleveland, were sorted out and assigned to their host families by Local Chairman Mrs. Richard Casper (left) of New Philadelphia and Janet Stein, a Cleveland Inner City Protestant Parish worker who accompanied the 28 youngsters Coming from deprived families in the Cleveland area, the 6 to 12-year-olds will spend 11 days with area residents. In addition to having an opportunity to thrive on the fun, fresh air, good food and loving interest a host family provides, they will be treated to a picnic next Friday at 5 p.m. in Tuscora Park. The new experience for the children didn't leave them all baffled and shy. One boy Walter Horn, who just couldn't wait to get off the bus before he found out who his family would be inquired from his seat: "Will Mr. Howard Johnson please come forward and raise his hand?" Mrs. Johnson of Bolivar came to his rescue.
