Anniversaries The Elmer Harmses Syracuse -- Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Harms will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. next Sunday at Rural Christ Lutheran (Delaware) Church. Friends may attend without further invitation. The event is being hosted by the couple's children, Mr. and Mrs. James Harms of San Jose, Calif., Mrs. Delores Pearson of Lincoln and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Harms. Mr. and Mrs. Harms were married Dec. 23,1925, in Iowa. They have seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The Carl Riegers Utica -- Mr. and Mrs. Carl Rieger were honored on their 45th wedding anniversary with a reception and dinner at the Elks Club in York. Hosts were their children and their spouses, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rieger of Mitchell, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Donald Rieger of Gresham, Mr. and Mrs. Bill J. (Janice) Wiemer of Turon, Kan., Mr. and Mrs. Roy (Gladys) Wiemer of York, their 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The couple was married Dec. 2, 1930, in Council Bluffs. The Jim Dorans The 40th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Jim (Helen) Doran will be celebrated with a dance 8 p.m. Saturday at Hidden Valley. Hosts will be their sons-in-law and daughters, Mr. and Neil (Marlyn) Bailer of Augusta, Mo., and Mr. and Mrs. Vern (Jeanne) Scholl. Also hosting the event will be Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Gibson. Friends may attend without invitation. The Dorans were married Dec. 11, 1935, in Council Bluffs. The Carl Schmidts Western -- In celebration of their 40th wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Carl W. Schmidt will be honored with open house from 2 to 4 p.m. next Sunday at their home. Friends may attend without invitation. Hosting the event will be their children, Mrs. Frederick (Carleen) Novak, Mrs. Duane (Kathryn) Dlouhy, Marion G. Schmidt and Warren W. Schmidt, all of Lincoln, and Duane Schmidt. The Albert Zessins Mr. and Mrs. Albert Zessin are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. their home, 2010 No. 54th. Hosts will be their daughter, Brenda Zessin, and their son daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Greg Zessin. Friends may attend without invitation.
