MRS. HARRIET M. GRANT K Mrs. Harriet M. Grant. 78. 1105 Montgomery street, died Saturday at a hospital here. Surviving are one sister, Miss Clara St. Claire. two daughters, Mrs. Mary Grant Brexton, and .Miss Harriet A Grant; three sons, Howard B Sterling S., all of Harrisburg, and J. Louis Grant, Detroit, Mich., and three grandchildren. A native of Harrisburg, Mrs. Grant was graduated in 1885 from Harrisburg High School and was the third Negro school teacher in the city. She taught in the Calder School Building from 1885 until 1890. Mrs. Grant was the organ izer and the first Grand Matron of the Negro Grand Chapter, of the Order of .Eastern Star and was secretary for ten years. Services will (be at 2 p. m, Tuesday at Capital Street Pres byterian Church, where she was the oldest member in years of service and was a member of the choir since she was 14 years old The Rev. Beverly M. Ward will officiate. Burial will be in Lin coln Cemetery. Friends may call between 7 and 9 p. m. tonight at the Hooper Funeral Home, 604 Forster street.
