inkerman Outscores Tech 11-9 To Win ODHA Inkerman captured the ODHA Junior "B" crown Saturday night when tlm'e ran out on a late Tech rally to give the Rockets an 11-9 victory in the high-scoring third game of their best-of-flve series at the Auditorium. The new champions, who also hold the junior "A" title, swept the finals in three straight games winning the first two contests by scores of 8-4 and 5-3. The Ropkets will likely advance against either the OHA or Que bec champions but no definite ar rangements have been made as yet. A final decision on the pro-' posed series is expected early. in the week. , Tech Rally. Tech seemed doomed to be snowed ui)der midway through the iinal frame with the Inkerman team blinking the light time after time to run up a 10-4 lead. However, the! Red and Black squad were not! easily discouraged and at the 12-minute mark Buck Rogers started them off on a do or-die raUy that came close to turning the tables. The Ottawa team blasted three more goals past Bennett and things looked black for the Rockets as Gjibbons sat out a minor in the penalty box. But then Jean Pa til Lafortune, who has sparked i the Inkerman team throughout the series, relieved the pressure a little when he snatched the puck at centre and eluded Gene Robillard to go in alone and beat Craig for his third goal of the evening. Tech continued to press and Jack Mclaurin, who had been a thorn In Inkerman s side all night with his ! constant backchecking, scored their final counter with just two seconds left to play. Rogers, Hurley Injured. Back Rogers and Ralph Hurley were the; only serious casualties of the rugged game that saw four majors meted out for a fight late in the third period. Rogers was struck in: the mouth by the puck in-the flrWt period but after first aid treatment he returned to the ice to finish the match.' Hurley aggravated an old leg injury when he collided wltH Maurice Gougeon late in the final frame. Junior 'B' Crown Inkerman Goal. Bennett; defence. Hurley. Doeeger; centre. Id Duncan: wings.
