-Two ExConvicts ; Are Accused Stock Forgery LOS ANGELES-- UPI-- Two exconvicts, one of them now a television writer, were ar! ar! rested on suspicion of forging . $2.5 million in bogus stock certificates. The police reported they , found the phony certificates --made put to blue chip cor- - porations -- in the apartment .. of Edgar Scott Flohr. Flohr, 45, was typing a .script when the police entered ' the apartment. The officers also confiscat- -.ed what they said appeared to be safecracking equipment -- a sledgehammer, an electric drill, and a portable grinder for filing keys. Released In 1962 Flohr was released from San Quentin Prison in 1962 after serving a term for a series of chain store burglaries burglaries in w h i c h safes · cracked. The other exconvict, William William Gorman, 37, a printer, was arrested in his home in suburban Glendora. Gorman . s e r v e d a prison term forgery. . Gorman apparently printed the bogus stock certificates, according to Sergeant Vincent Furriel of the police forgery " detail. Furriel said s o m e ·'.certificates already may have been circulated. The police got on the trail of Flohr and Gorman in an . investigation of the source -forged Bank of America travelers'- travelers'- checks. About $125,000 worth of these phony checks have been passed during the -last year, according to Furriel. Furriel. Plates Found A set of plates which .have been used to print the bogus travelers' checks was found in Flohr's apartment the officers said. This is the first time Flohr has been in trouble with law since he was paroled, according to Police S e r ^Edward Lavold who said, -was a darn good writer. hob nobbed with stars and producers and he could have made a good living writing scenarios."
