103rd Infantry Reserve Division to Camp McCoy for Training Into Camp McCoy at Sparta, Wis.. this weekend will march the 103rd infantry reserve division for a 2-week tour of duty. Hundreds of officers and enlisted reservists from Iowa. Minnesota, North and South Dakota were to leave their homes Friday and Saturday, reporting for duty Sunday at 1 p. m. Maj. Gen. Hanford MacNider of Mason City, commander of the 103rd, left Saturday to take charge of the outfit. His aide, Capt. H. B. "Hank" Hook of Mason City, has*; been at Camp McCoy since Tuesday as part of the advance party getting things in readiness for arrival of the troops. In Charge of Training Brig. Gen. George Olmsted of Des Moines, assitant division commander, will be in charge of. the training program during the 2 weeks. The program will include many problems in the field on the 92,000-acre McCoy reservation. The 2-week tour of duty is prescribed by Fifth army headquarters for active reservists so thai they may have opportunity to operate in the field and acquaint themselves with the new weapons and problems they have been studying during regular unit (raining per- iods at their respective home stations during the last year. The 103rd trained at Fort Riley, Kans., last summer, and camo away with the highest performance record of any division under Fifth army jurisdiction, including all of the midwest. Other Mason Cityans who will be at Camp McCoy with the 103rc are members of Company F, 410th infantry. They are Capt.
