Midvale Taps Jubilee Queen Special to The Tribune MIDVALE—A pretty blonde with, spark-. ling hazel eyes was named Midvale's Golden Jubilee queen Wednesday night to officially open the four-day celebration. JOAN CARRIGAN, 16, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Carrigan, 144 S. Main St., Midvale, was selected as the queen from among 31 contestants. Her attendants arc Pearl Milner, 17, daughter of Mr. "and Mrs. W. Elaine Milner, Copperton, and Jeannine Berg, 18, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Berg, 31 Haxton PI. (940 East). AFTER THE JUDGING in Kiwanis Bowl, a pageant depicting the history of Midvale was presented. It featured a cast of 300 and was written by Glen Sacos. Approximately 2,000 persons witnessed the queen contest and pageant under star- filled skies to open the 50th anniversary celebration of the incorporation of the city. THURSDAY'S events will be highlighted by a junior parade at 6:30 p.m. Miss Carrigan was crowned by Mayor Henry Beckstead. ^
