Pennsylvania Halts X-Ray Shoe Fitting HARRISBURG, Pa. (P) - The State Health Department has ordered the discontinuance in Pennsylvania of shoe fitting by fluoroscopic or X-ray machines. State Secretary of Health Berwyn F. Mattison said Friday the ruling was "designed to protect the public against the harmful effects of ionizing radiation."
