Sparks Man Arrested Joseph Silvey (Tuesday, 20 March 1951, page 14, columns 1-2)

"Joseph Carl Silvey, 55-year-old Sparks railroad boiler maker, was held under guard at the Churchill County Hospital at Fallon last night on and open charge, following the fatal shooting of Mrs. Lila Marie Mahnen, about 45, believed to be a Korea war widow." Joseph wounded himself in the head but was rescued by police. At the end of the article: "Silvey's wife, Selma Alice, died September 22, 1950 in Sparks. The death was listed by police department there as a suicide."
