MRS. SHELDON BARD NAMED TO POST OF COUNTY JBRARIAN Mrs. Sheldon L. Bard, who has been on the staff of the Huntingdon Huntingdon County Library on a temporary temporary basis for the past six months, has now been permanently appointed appointed by the library's board of trustees/ This action was taken yesterday afternoon at a special meeting of the library board presided presided Qver by the president, Mrs. Thomas F. Miller. Mrs. Bard, who, will be remembered remembered as the former Catherine Roberts, will take over her permanent permanent duties July 1st, with the title of librarian, a post she held when the library was first organized organized in 1935 and until her resignation resignation in 1942. Mrs. G. Donald Fisher, who has been serving as librarian since the Fall of 1950, will continue on the staff as assistant librarian. Mrs. Fisher's appointment as librarian was made when' the services of an experienced professional librarian librarian were not available. The library board realizes the desirability- of having a - professionally-trained librarian, more so in view of the prospective, move of the library into into the McMurtrie Homa in the near future. •Mrs. Fisher's duties as assistant librarian will be primarily to supplement supplement those of Mrs. Bard and to give her special attention to public relations work in the inter( inter( Continued on Page Nineteen)
