Dr. Dornblaser Dies In Chicago Veteran Churchman Was 100 in June; Was Born In County The Rev. Thomas F. Dornblaser, , D., 100 this past June 27, died ast evening at 8.30 o'clock at the ome of his daughter, Mrs. Mabel Phillips in Chicago, where he ad made his home for some time. Funeral services are to be held 'ednesday afternoon at Chicago. He is survived also by his sec- nd wife whom he married in ermany, by another daughter, yTrs. Roger Walters ol Chicago, and a number of grandchildren. Mr. Dornblaser was born June 7, 1841, at a homestead half way Between* Clintondale and Mackey- ille. A Civil War veteran, he served with the Seventh Pennsyl- ania Volunteer Cavalry under is uncle, Captain Israel Schaeffer, nd served on the escort of General Turchin and later on the es- ort of General Crook in the :hickamagua campaign. During ne last year of the war, he was commissary sergeant, and took art in the capture of Jefferson }avis. He was one of those who elped celebrate the reunion of Civil War veterans at Gettysburg several years ago. His two eldest sons served in lie Spanish-American war and a hird son was killed in the World IVar. His grandfather fought in the War of 1812. ^ minister of the Lutheran "hurch for many years, and for ome time the oldest living Lutheran pastor, he was' also the oldest iving alumnus of Susquehanna Jniversity, having been , made lonorary president of ils alumn association in 1933. He graduatec rom there in 1871. He is author if a book, "Sabre Strokes," on livil War reminiscences, and he age of 90 published "My Life Story for Young and Old." He took many trips to Europe and return, having served as pas- or of the American Church, Now- awes, Germany. He also scrvec ong pastorates at St. Paul's, Bucyrus, O.; St. Paul's, Dixon, 111. and Grace Church, Chicago, 111. and Topeka, Kansas. Many surviving cousins live in .his vicinity.
