Montana State University, Bozeman, reside in Montana. Map of MSU alums currently living in each. Not All Montana's Young People Leave BOZEMAN - The belief that Montana young people get their educations here then race each other for the state's borders has been refuted by the secretary of the Montana State University Alumni Association. "Our figures indicate that at least 55 per cent of this school's alumni still reside in Montana," Joe May, MSU alumni leader, said. "Of the some 20,000 Montana State graduates and former students students that we have current addresses addresses for, 11,000 of them are residents of this state," May added. While the alumni office has lost contact with several thousand thousand of onetime MSU students, "We have reason to believe," May noted, "that the percentage breakdown of Montana residents and non-residents in the 'lost* group would be just as high, if not higher." These statistics came to light as MSU Alumni Association of- ficials divided Montana into 10 alumni districts for purposes of improved organization.
