SUUTHT ASITrifcfimrJHAM1.1 Death of an Old Resident. Mrs, Mercy (Smith) Gross, widow of the late Elijah Gross, died, Tuesday morning, aged 96 years and two month. For several years Mrs. Gross has been the oldest person in town, though that distinction was erroneous- erroneous- 1 ly bestowed upon Alonzo Willard, who trecently passed away. Mrs Gross' health had not been very robust for several years, though her mental faculties were unusually active I for a person of her great age and she greatly enjoyed the visits of her neighbors and friends, and always had She was in her usual health until a few days ago when she contracted a severe cold which was the immediate cause of her death. She leaves a son, A. P Gross, and one daughter, Miss Sarah Gross, and a large number of relatives and friends' to mourn her loss
