WEDNESDAY, APKIl, II, 171 Dr. Neumann Dies; Professor Al I.U. f TAR TATE REPORT Dr. fit'org Karl Neumann, 6.1, Bloominfiton, an Indiana University anthropologist and archcologist, died yesterday in University Hospital after a brief illness. An associate professor of anthropology anthropology at I.U., he was widely known for his knowledge knowledge of the physical characteristics characteristics of the human skeleton. , .Because of his knowledge in this area, he was a consultant to the Indiana and Illinois state police and had aided them in identification of remains of unknown unknown persons. , HE HAD participated in most of the important excavations excavations of prc-historic prc-historic prc-historic Indian sites in the United States, Canada and Mexico in recent years. A native of Germany, Dr. Neumann held three degrees from the University of Chicago. Chicago. He was a member of the 3.U. Faculty since 1942. Dr. Neumann was a former president of the Central States Anthropological Association Association and a member of Phi jBeta Kappa scholastic honorary, honorary, the Mexican and German societies of anthropology and the Indiana Academy of Science. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Doris Neumann; two sons, Dr. Holm Neumann of Fountain Valley, Calif., and Erik Neumann of Washington, D.C., and two daughters, Mrs. Gary Lentz of Bloomington and Mrs. Winston May of Manassas, Va. F. E. Marshall, Author, Speaker, Services for F. Elmer Marshall, Marshall, 89, who was "booked solid" as an entertainer and speaker until five years ago when his health failed, will be held at 7:30 p.m. today in the Gentry-Hampton Gentry-Hampton Gentry-Hampton Funeral Home at Plainfield. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Jackson, Mich., on Thursday. Mr. Marshall died Monday night in Hendricks County Hospital. Hospital.
