EDWARDSVILLE' Leave Items Bt Hattsn'a phar Riaey, , i Town Celebration Saturday, August 18, will be a mem-orable mem-orable mem-orable day for Kdwardavllle. . Qn that day a general holiday will be declared. All business houaea will be aaked to cloae and every one will Journey ' to Harvey's Lake for the day. The 432 soldiers and sailors, or as many aa are home, will be guests of honors of the townspeople. Prior to the day of the outing the Darktown band wllLiparade Main street possibly together with the soldiers and sailors. Each soldier will be given a ribbon of honor which will entitle him to a cash donation. He will be taken also to the lake, free of charge. Nothing Is being left' undone by the committee to make this event a pleasing and memorable one for Ed-wardsville. Ed-wardsville. Ed-wardsville. Every Wednesday evening the committee' meets. All cltlaens interested interested are at liberty to attend these meetlnga and present their suggestions. suggestions. The soldtera and sailors are worthy of the beat that can be given to them- them- and every cltlsen should consider consider himself ons of the committee. The printing committee, consisting of Richard Powell, Rees 8. Davlea, William William Bell and Samuel Francis, la now having the tloketa printed. The tickets tickets will cost $1 fop adults and 15 cents for children. Cars will leave the town every twenty minutes. The committee has on hand $818.47. More money will be needed to show ths boys a good time and every one 'should assist in every way possible.
