Two Gasoline, Oil Companies Reveal Merger With the merger this week of tha Hyrum W. Pingree stations and the Paramount Lubricants company, a new major gasoline and oil distributing concern will enter the local field. Announcement of the consolidation is authorized by Mr. PJngree. He has been active in the retail gasoline mar- Ket for ten years and in that time has established a chain of 20 stations in and around Salt Lake which deal principally in Union oil products. The Paramount Lubricants company, with headquarters at 526 West Eighth South street and stations on West Second South, South Main and West North Temple streets, has handled products of the Continental Oil company. F. C. West is its president and manager, and C. F. Edwards, secretary and treasurer. It is understood that on completion. of. the merger Mr. Pingree will assume the management of the consolidated company. It will continue the distribution of gasoline and oil, add cuch other lines as conditions justify and probably expand its operations into new territory.
