Obituary of Daphne Frazier Wilcox
OBITUARY Daphne B. Frazier, daughter of John Riley and Ida May Frazier, was born in Monroe County, Iowa, May 5, 1903, and passed away at her home in Moravia May 14, 1947, being 44 years and nine days of age. She spent the first part of her lite in Albia where she was well and favorably known. When yet a young girl she was married to Eugene Wilcox and to them was born one son, Eugene Jr., on whom she lavished much love and affection. On January 29, 1942 he enlisted in the Air Corps and was promoted to the rank of First Lieutenant. He was shot down in action and reported missing missing for months and finally was listed as officially dead. His death was a great shock to Mrs. McDonough McDonough and grief over his passing passing is thought to have brought her untimely death. On Nov. 20, 1926 she was united in marriage to Ralph McDonough of Moravia and they have made their home in this community since She was a member of the Moravia Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her father and mother and two brothers, brothers, John and Roy Frazier of Albia. She is survived by her husband, Ralph McDonough of Moravia, three sisters, Mrs. Emma Hickaori of Albia, Mrs. Alta DeTar of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Lela Harding of Ottumwa, Iowa; four nieces, Frances Frances Roger, Evylen Ward, Thelma Treeloar, and Mildred Watkins, and two cousins, Merle and John Douglas Douglas of Albia. Her friends were numbered numbered by all who knew her and she will" be sadly missed by everyone.
