of A. R. Orbisonia Lions Hold Meeting AtNeelytn A large group of the members of the Orbisonia Lions Club attended the dinner meeting in the Methodist Church at Neelyton on Tuesday evening, November 5, at seven 'o'clock. V . The. sumptuous meal, prepared by the ladies of the church, was served .in the social room which was attractively decorated In a manner suggestive of the Hallo- we'en season. From a perch high in the room a "wise old owl" surveyed the festive scene. Beautiful bowls of the favorite Autumn flower, "the mum," 'adorned each table. The main dish/of the dinner was roaat chicken but there were so' many' other delicious foods served that the Lions agreed it was really a pre-Thanksgiving feast. President Robert V. Querry presided. The meeting was opened by singing- the National Anthem and the Rev. C. B. Littleton gave the Invocation. Homer T. Wear acted as song director and led the group in enjoyable group singing. Following the dinner the elu* a-ljourned to the church auditorium. As it was known -beforehand that an unusual amount of business had to be. discussed and disposed of no special program had been arranged, but Harry Blessing entertained the group with an act of magic,-which he presented for the first time before his associates. Mr. Blessing received a hearty round of applause. Richard WY Fraker inducted three jiew members into the club, namely: Gester C. Stinson, Three Springs, and Allen 'S. Shair and George F. Gutshall of Orbisonia. Mr. Fraker gave the new members a little talk on what it mrans to be a "Lion" after which the inductees were warmly welcomed by the group. * A very important business session followed these activities and several items of more than usual interest to the club and community were discussed and 'plans made for future action.
