Encounter With Stranger In Home Leads To Charges Betty Odom who gave her home as Spartanburg, S.~ G., was dealt with in police court this morning on a charge of assault which was changed to trespass and finally dismissed when testimony was to the effect that a member of the household had brought her to the house in which the complaint originated. originated. The woman was originally charged with an assault on Mrs. Flossie Martin of 406 Plum street. Evidence disclosed that Mrs. Martin Martin found the woman in her home when she returned last night and that an encounter took place after Mrs. Martin struck the alleged intruder on the head with a shoe. The defendant claimed that she had been invited to and taken to the home by a son of Mrs. Martin. This testimony resulted in the charge being dismissed. The Odom woman, however, was fined $5 and costs on a charge of drunkenness.
