a Rossifer MinerDead Karol John Dudek, an unmarried 54-year-old Rossiter coal miner, died at 11:20 a. m. yesterday when he was caught under about four tons of rock which fell from the ceiling of the Superior Mine No. 1 Clark Mining Co., near Glen Campbell. Another workman, Joseph Segar of Glen Campbell, narrowly escaped death or Injury as the rock fell. Dudek is said to have died instantly sustaining a crushed chest and fractured left leg. Workmen labored a half hour to extricate his body from in under the rock fall in the main heading, about one and a half miles from the mine opening. Authorities said the workmen had just made a "shot" arid were removing the loose rock when part of the roof gave way. Dudek was caught completely under the fall. The deceased was born in Poland and had lived here for many years.
