Pulitzer Award Won by 'Times Prize Bestowed as Result of Court Fight Bringing Clarification and Confirmation of Free Press Right NEW YORK. May 4. (U.R) was awarded the Pulitzer Prize "for the most disinterested and meritorious public service rendered by an American newspaper during the year 1941." . The award a $500 gold medal was made to The Times "for its successful campaign which resulted in the clarification clarification and confirmation for all American newspapers of the right of free press as guaranteed under the Constitution."
