>••! •!•«•••••••>• No Clues In Murder OfF amilv / * * * • Neighbors Are Bewildered by Four Killings GARDEN CITY (AP) — "There wasn't a better liked fellow in this county," said Lynn Russell, long-time friend of Herb Clutter. Russell echoed the bewilderment that gripped Fimiey County following the slaying of Clutter, 48; his wife, Bonnie, 45, and two of their children, Nancy, 16, and Kenyon, 15. The four were bound, gagged and shot at their home seven miles west of Garden City Saturday night. Investigators today were checking out possible leads they pieced together in a meeting Monday night. "We have several leads, but none of them are promising," said Sheriff Earl Robertson. He declined to discuss details. Russell said he spent much of Saturday with Clutter at the Finney County 4-H Club building in Garden City. As commii"ity i-^.cl- ers in the 4-H movement, they met with club members to plan next year's program. "Clutter appeared to be in his usual good humor," Russell recalled. Agreeing with Russell Svas Victor Irsik of Holcomb, a little community a mile from the Clutter home. Irsik worked for Clutter 15 years. His sons, Bobby Irsik, 14, and Paul Irsik, 15, milked the Clutter cows Sunday morning and set the fresh milk inside the utility room door of the home, unaware of the tragedy. The bodies were found by iwo of Nancy's schoolmates, Mary Ewalt and Susan Kidwell, who stopped at the home to go to church with the Clutters. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a. m. at the First Methodist Church m Garden City. ft ft
