PENSIONS FOR CARLISLE MEN Word was received here that the special pension bill providing special pensions for Jesse Cart, of the First ward, and J. George Spangenberg, of the Second ward, had passed the House and also the Senate and now awaits the executive approval, having to be signed by the President. The bill provides for a pension of $24 for each of these men. The latter gentleman gentleman has been totally blind for the past several years. A special act granting a Civil War pension of $30 a month to Dr. George Hemminger, of this place, has been signed by President Roosevelt. It was passed through both houses by the efforts of Senator Penrose and Congressman Olmsted.
