Mrs. Cora Wharton Mrs. 'Cora Wharton, wife of William H. Wharton of Mapleton Depot, passed away at her home on Thursday, May 15, 1952, at. 11 p._ m. after an extended illness. The deceased wa-s born in Orbisonia Orbisonia on August 11, 1874, a daughter of Edwin E. and Sarah (Briggs) Bailey. She was united in marriage to William H. Wharton Wharton of Mapleton on March 11, 1896 by the Rev. Mr. Gray, pastor pastor of the Mapleton Methodist Church. The Whartons spent all their married life in Mapleton. She was a member of the Mapleton Mapleton Evangelical United Brethren Brethren Church. She belonged to the Ladies Bible Class of the church and she was a member of the Mapleton P. O. of A. Lodge. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Reba (Mrs. Virl Park), Ethel (Mrs. John Stair) and Melvin Wharton, all of Mapleton and Mrs. V{ra Yellin of Canton. Ohio. Eleven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren great-grandchildren and one brother and one sister, Charles Bailey and Mrs. C. H. Dell, both of Mapleton, also also survive. Funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock o'clock at the Clark funeral home in Mount Union. The Rev. Charles Miller will officiate 'and interment interment will be made in the I. O. O. F. Cemetery at Mapleton. Friends may call at the funeral home .after .after noon on Saturday. in County, son,
