" Avww* * RUNOFF CONTROL DEVICE - Flooding from overflows from the Slate Canyon flood control basin at the head of East Third South Street, may be a thing of the past with this installation installation of a pipe through the basin dam. Water level behind the dam now may be regulated thromgh a control gate on the pipe to keep heavy runoff water flowing into irrigation canals rather than building up and finally spilling over the dam in large quantities. Clarence Ferre, a heavy equipment operator for Tyler Sand, Gravel and Construction Co., stands by the pipe. The firm did the work of installing the pipe for the city.
