Circle II also had an evening meeting. Mrs. W. B. Bates, Mrs. V. Stuart Perry, Mrs. Ed Anderson Anderson and Mrs. O. H. McCain were hostesses at Mrs. Bates' home. Tn the absence of Mrs. Carl Biiuerle, chairman, the meeting was conducted by Mrs. J. Howard I lodges, who read Henry Wadsworth Wadsworth Longfellow's poem, "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day." Mrs. Ij. E, Sweany led the devotional devotional service, titled, "The Story of the Messiah", as taken from tlie scriptun s. The service included included the poem. "A Christmas Carol" by Christian Burke. Miss Wilma Mohler read the story, "A Christmas Eve Years' Ago" by Sarah Lock wood. The "secret pals" were revealed in a guessing contest conducted by Miss Mohler. Each member wrote a few sentences describing her "secret, pal." The other members members guessed the identities from the descriptions. Three who tied for correctly naming the most were Mrs. James W. Wilson, Mrs. Herschel Heath and Mrs. R. M. i Peters.
