LIGHTNUIG STRIKES HERE DAMAGES THE HOMES OF E. A. BROWN AND CLARA RUDE - f.lELTS MERCURY ON HIRROH And Performs Peculiar Stunts About The Houses, , Frightening The Inmates During the electric storm Tuesday afternoon the dwelling of E. A. Brown, on North Wayne street, was struck by lightning tearing op the eaye trough and doing nominal damages. The in mates were considerably frightened. The dwelling occupied by Mrs. Clara Rude, across the block to the east of Mr, Brown's place, on Washington street, was also "thumped severely. The chimney torn down, plastering scattered and the flash and clash caused a panic of the Inmates of the home. The mercury on a mirror in the Rudd home was melted. A window was torn out and the frame fell over, father Reuben Ettinger, but fortunately did him no serious injury. The house was badly demolished. Fortunately neither of these houses were set on fire
