A big patriotic meeting was held last night at the Wood River school, the storm driving an open air audience into the school auditorium. The crowd attending the program was very large and enthusiastic. The principal speaker of the evening was Gordon B. Sommers of the Four-Minute Men's Organization In St. « Louis. Music for the evening was furnished by the children's chorus of the Wood River School, and by the Union Band of Wood River and East 'Alton, and the Bethalto Orchestra. J During the evening some very fine talks along patriotic lines were made by Rev. B. N. Manning, pastor of the Wood River Catholic Church, of Alton; Rev. 11. J.
