DOUBLE RING VOWS Shirley Joann Merket Weds Jackie Dee Pylant COLORADO CITY ( R N S ) Shirley Joann Merket, daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Stanley Merkei )f the C'liina Grove community, ?ecame the bride of Jackie Dee Pylant Friday evening in the China Grove Baptist Church. The Uev. C. B. Underwood, former pastor of (he church, read :he double ring vows. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Dee Pylant. The bride, given in marriage by her falher, wore a wedding gown designed by her mother. The gown was made of chanlilly ace over crystal tulle and taffeta designed wilh a scalloped sabrina neckline.oullined with flowers ap- pliqued in seed pearls and iridescent sequins. The bouffant skirt was fashioned wilh en overskirt of lace made with scallops appliqued in flowers of seed pearls and sequins, and extending into a train of alternating ruffled tiers of lulle and lace. Her fingertip veil of importet silk illusion bordered with chan tilly lace was caught to a crown cS lace trimmed with seed pearls and sequins. She carried a cascade bouquel of a white glamellia stephanotis and pink sweetheart roses tiet wilh love knots atop a Bible covered with white satin and lace. The Bible was a gilt of her pater- nel grandmother, Mrs Jim Merket. The bride carried in her bou- uet a 50-year-old goid bracelet wlonging to her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Jess Brown. Wedding music was played by Irs. C. B. Underwood, former eaclier of the bride, and Kay laner, Utllefield, was soloist. Glenda Brown was maid of hon- r and Mrs. Billy Pylant, slster- n-law of the bridegroom, was latron of honor, Betty Pylant, ister of the bridegroom, was ridesmaid and Gloria Merket, ister of the bride, was junior i ridesmaid, Their dresses were fashioned ?ith long torso bodices, V neck- mes with scallops and bouffant kirts of pink crystalline. Each vore a headdress of ruffled pink rystalline with pink sequin trimming and a pink scalloped tulle 'ell. They carried while nosegays of carnations. Flower girls were Dentia Lynn Brown and Donna Ball. They car. ried white baskets that were crocheted by the bride's great-aunt lrs. Dan Hall of Cisco. Candlelighters were Cynthi; Merket and Donna Ann Hall. Gerald Wayne Brown and Doug Coonrod were ringbearers. Best man was Billy Pylant irother of the bridegroom, am rroomsmen were Rex Pylant, bro- her of the bridegroom, and Dick Shaver of Hale Center. Ushers were Woody Merket ol Midland, Bobby Lemons, Roy Jay Ball, Lucky Merket. Joe Ed Underwood and the Rev. Jimmy 'imith. A reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church. Uemlcrs of Ite houseparty at reception were Evalena Jones, S'elda Jo Thurman, Ann Van- Wa, MeCamey, Helen Jo Laster, 4nda Hairslon, Mrs. Billy Ray, Mrs. N. F. Hall, and Mrs. Edward Brown, Mrs. Jack Merkei ind Mrs. Roy Lee Merkei, Mid and, aunts of the bride. When the couple left on a woii trip to San Antonio, the bride wore a navy silk shanlung chemise suit with white silk liat and other white accessories. The couple will live at 1307 St. in Snyder. The bride is a graduate of :olorado City High School and attended Hardin-Siminons University where she was a member the A Cappella Choir, the Life Service Band, Y.W.A. and Mission Band. She also aftended Texas Technological College durin, (he spring semester. A graduate of Fluvanna High School, the bridegroom is a sen lor member of the Geology there. A rehearsal dinner Thursday evening in the Fellowship Hall was hosted by the bridegroom's psrents.
