POLICE RESCUE "MICKEY" ION FROM IRATE MOB Hockey Referee Held in Jail After Running Down Girl in Seattle With Auto I By Associated Pressl SEATTLE, Wash.. May 15. F. J. "Mickey" Ion, rescued by polico from an incensed mob after his automobile had struck and Injured a 12-year-old girl here Sunday, was accused yesterday of driving while drunk and failing to stop after an accident, . Ion, a fox fanner and hockey referee, waa willing to post the $3,000 bail asked, but was held in Jail by order of Immigration authorities. Officers are investigating his entry Into the United States while on the way from his Vancouver, B.C. home to his farm near Tacoina. Witnesses said that Ion's automobile struck the girl Sunday, and he sped on. He was overtaken by another automohile driver and an Bngry crowd, armed with clubs and stones, soon formed. ' Police arrived and broke up the crowd. The girl is recovering from her Injuries.
