FORMER OF FIRE CHIEF DEP’T TAKEN BY DEATH Charles M. Gordon for almost thirty years a member of the Warren fire department, twenty-two years of which w'ere spent as chief, died at his home in Prospect street Sunday afternoon following a lingering illness, Mr, Gordon w’as born in Warren May 8 , 1870, son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Gordon. His entire life was spent in the community where he was held in the highest regard by all w'ho knew him. He was married in Warren August 17, 1898, to Miss Nora Hollister, of this city, who survives with tw'o children, L. E. Gordon, Cleveland, Ohio, and Miss Doris Gordon, at home. There are three grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Rowena Mathis and Mrs. Lulu Gardner, both of Warren. Mr. Gordon affiliated with the W'arren fire department in November. 1905, retiring three years ago after almost thirty years of efficient and faithful service. He was elected chief in 1912 and filled that position until January, 1934, Services will be held at the family home Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock (DST), Rev. W. E. Bartlett officiating.
